Connie Sexton has been working with children in some capacity for nearly thirty years. After earning an Associates of Science in Elementary Education at WSCC in 1990, she transferred to Carson Newman College where she finished her bachelors degree. During this time she worked in the after school program at Manley Daycare. After graduation, Connie served as a substitute/maternity leave teacher in the Hamblen Co. school system until she and her husband, Greg, made the decision for her to come home for a season to be with their children.
During the next several years, Connie served in the children’s ministry at her church, taught Music at ASES for a year, and then homeschooled her children for four years.
In the area of the arts, she has performed in many local theatre productions, and has had experience backstage, stage managing, and assistant directing. She has a passion for the visual arts, as well, and has taken watercolor classes at UT and the Fountain City Arts Center.
Connie enjoys painting, gardening, singing, and pampering Daisy, the family cat!
“It is a blessing to work with children and to use the arts as a tool to help them grow in creativity and confidence.”
