Laura Lingerfelt Ritter is currently on staff at Walters State Community College where she serves as head of the Music and Theatre Department and Director of Choral Activities. She is also the choir director at First United Methodist Church in Jefferson City and the artistic director of the Lakeway Children's Choir. Last year, she was the guest instructor of the Clemson University Women's Choir and directed the orchestra for the Clemson production of "Bright Star.”
She has 25 years of work as music director and accompanist for musical theatre productions with Encore Theatrical Company, Legacy Theatre, and Walters State. She has experience working with all age groups and enjoys singing and learning about music with "kids" of all ages. Laura holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Furman University and a Master's Degree in Choral Conducting from the University of Illinois. She did further graduate work at the University of Tennessee.
Laura also loves shopping for shoes, traveling, and reading. And she’s a huge college football fan with a "slight" obsession with the Clemson Tigers.

“There has been a desire on my heart for several years to develop a School of the Arts in our area. When several doors closed, I had almost given up, but am now grateful for the vision of Kara Moss and to be invited along for this new adventure. The people involved with Fuzion are people of integrity, strong character, and a sense of purpose....all values that I admire and seek for myself. The goal of elevating the community is also one that resonates with me...what better tool for this worthy goal than exposure to and involvement in the arts?”
