Lauren MillsapsDance instructorLauren is a junior exercise science major at Carson-Newman University and recently received her A.S degree in General Studies in May of 2022. She has been a dancer for 16 years and has both trained and performed in many dance genres such as ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, musical theater, modern, contemporary, lyrical, and hip hop. She was a member of the Academy of Dance Arts in Lenoir City, Tennessee, and joined the Academy of Dance Arts ensemble at the age of 10 years old. With the dance company, she performed at many local events, dance competitions, studio performances, at Walt Disney World, taught dance classes, attended dance conventions, and was accepted into Tennessee Governor's School for the Arts. She was a member of Carson-Newman's dance team and when that door closed, God opened the door for her to become an instructor at Fuzion where she is excited to both share her love of dance and for the Lord.
My why I want to show my students at Fuzion how dance is much more than learning technique and synchronized movements. Not only is dance a creative outlet for dancers to express themselves in ways words could never do, it is also a gift from God and a way for dancers to praise His name and share their testimony. Dance has always been my escape, a way of praise, and my biggest passion. I am incredibly blessed that God opened this door for me to become an instructor at Fuzion, and in His will, I want to showcase His amazing love through dance as well as inspire my students to follow their purpose through dance. |
