ShowCase description

The Lion King JR. tells the story of the epic adventures of a curious cub named Simba as he struggles to accept the responsibilities of adulthood and his destiny as king. Along the way, the young lion encounters a colorful cast of characters including spunky lioness Nala, charismatic meerkat Timon, and loveable warthog Pumbaa. To claim his rightful place on the throne and save his beloved Pridelands, Simba must find his inner strength and confront his wicked Uncle Scar. The Lion King JR. features classic songs from the 1994 film such as “Hakuna Matata” and the Academy Award®-winning “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” as well as additional songs penned for the Broadway production.

Shows will be Friday, May 23rd & Saturday, May 24th.

Dress Rehearsal Dates & Times Costume Info

Full Cast Run Through, May 17th, 12:00-6:00 

Why would we possibly need your kids for 6 whole hours?!!!! LOL, This will be the first rehearsal where we’re bringing the whole show together—featuring a cast of around 70 performers! Even better, some of the classes will get their first chance to dive into the choreography for certain scenes. How exciting is that? For many of the students, this is a brand-new experience, and the energy is going to be electric! Everything will feel fresh, fun, and full of surprises! We want to give everyone plenty of time to get comfortable in the space, adjust to all the transitions, and have the stage and scene changes feel like second nature. And don’t worry—we’re making this a super fun day! There will be games, breaks, and, of course, snacks to keep everyone energized. There’s nothing quite like watching a show come to life, and your kids are going to love every second of it!

Parents, we are so excited to share with you all the costumes for Lion King Jr.! Hakuna Matata, no worries, parents, we will be the ones to order the costumes!  If your student's costume has an additional purchase (ie. jazz shoes, shirts, etc...) you can find the specific information and purchasing links here! Just click the class you need and it will take you straight to the costume information!

HAIR INFO

​🦁 LIONESSES, 🐃 WILDEBEESTS, 🦌 GAZELLES, 🐦 KITE-BIRDS, 🦓 ZEBRAS, 🌿 GRASS
Hair Guidelines:
  • Hair should be styled in one of the following, depending on length and texture:
    • A single regular braid
    • A single French braid
    • Or pulled back neatly in an elastic
  • Hair should be off the face and secure enough to stay in place during movement.
  • No bright-colored hair ties or accessories—please use neutral colors (brown, black, beige).
  • If hair is too short to braid or tie back, please ensure it is neatly combed and styled away from the face.

🐾 CUBS
Girls:
  • Hair should be styled in space buns (two buns on either side of the head) to replicate cub ears, if hair is long enough.
  • Use neutral-colored elastics or pins (no bright colors or bows).
  • Make sure the buns are secure for dancing and movement.
Boys:
  • Hair can be worn as they normally wear it, as long as it is neat and out of the face.

​🐺 HYENAS (Shenzi, Banzai, Ed, and Hyena Ensemble)
Hair Guidelines (Girls & Boys):
  • Hair should have a messy, tousled look—wild and untamed to match their chaotic energy.
  • Tease, fluff, or spike using gel, mousse, or light hairspray.
  • Avoid any neat braids or ponytails--the messier, the better!
  • Use dark or neutral-colored accessories only if needed to secure hair.

SHOWCASE TICKETS

The Circle of Life Begins!
Hakuna Matata, families! Each family will receive two complimentary tickets per show their children are in. Additional tickets will be available for just $8 each. For example, if Simba and Nala are in the same show, their family will receive two complimentary tickets total for that show. If Simba and Nala are in different shows, the family will receive two complimentary tickets for each show.This applies per family, not per performer.

Use the code FSAFAMILY  for your two complimentary tickets per show. Please place a separate ticket order for each performance you plan to attend! This will insure that you get your two complementary tickets for each performance!
