Theatre Class Descriptions
Sparkly Starz: (Ages 5-6) Pure Fun! This class takes pretend and imagination to a whole new level and sows seeds for an interest and love for theatre and storytelling!
Showstoppers: (Ages: 7-8) Pure Fun! This class takes pretend and imagination to a whole new level and sows seeds for an interest and love for theatre and storytelling!
Theatre FUNdamentals A: (Ages 9-11) This class will introduce theatre vocabulary and a knowledge of the layout of a theatrical stage, different types of stages, stage positions, working as a team in ensemble, auditioning, limited theatre history as it applies to theatre today and beginning acting. All this is introduced in a relaxed setting with lots of opportunity for theatre games and experiential learning.
Ages are approximate and final class placement will be evaluated by the instructor after a 1-2 week trial period.
Theatre FUNdamentals B: (Ages 12-18) This class will introduce theatre vocabulary and a knowledge of the layout of a theatrical stage, different types of stages, stage positions, working as a team in ensemble, auditioning, limited theatre history as it applies to theatre today and beginning acting. Acting A: (Ages 9-11) This class will work on overcoming stage fright, character building, working in ensemble and begin to introduce different acting techniques. Pre-requisite: Theatre FUNdamentals and/or with instructor approval, coming with much stage experience and basic knowledge of theatre
Acting B: (Ages 12-18) This class will work on overcoming stage fright, character building, working in ensemble and begin to introduce different acting techniques. Pre-requisite: Theatre FUNdamentals and/or with instructor approval, coming with much stage experience and basic knowledge of theatre
Musical Theater A: (Ages 9-11) This class is designed for beginning musical theatre experience. Students will explore skills, the development of both story and character through movement, basic lyrical dance and working in ensemble.
Musical Theater B: (Ages 12-18) This class furthers skills learned in Level 1 and gives increased opportunity to explore character development through both movement and dialogue.
