Irish: Irish dance is characterized by a stiff upper body, quick foot movement, and jumps that make the dancer look like they are hanging in the air. Some dances are performed in soft shoes and others in hard shoes. Hard shoe dances are full of the sounds of heels clicking, toes tapping, and feet stomping. Irish dancing is fun, challenging, and definitely high energy. (This class is open to dancers enrolled in Ballet III or higher. The first hour is soft shoe followed by thirty minutes of hard shoe. Students may take soft shoe only for the hour or stay for the additional hard shoe portion).
